Meet the Staff

David Dunlap, DVM

Dr. Dunlap was born and raised in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He attended Auburn University where he received an Animal Science degree in 1994 and his Veterinary degree in 1997. After several years of mixed animal practice, he decided to follow his dream and open an equine exclusive facility, named Creekside Equine in 2002. In 2009 Creekside was re-named North Alabama Equine Hospital.

Outside of work, Dr. Dunlap enjoys spending time with his family, boating, trail riding and barrel racing. His interests are all aspects of equine practice with a special interest in equine lameness and podiatry.

Alisa Koken, Veterinary Technician

Alisa joined the clinic in September of 2008. She took a short break in April to pursue the Real Estate industry but returned to NAEH in October of 2011. With over 4 and a half years of small and large animal veterinary technician experience Alisa also enjoys teaching English riding lessons and training horses. In her free time she enjoys spending time with friends and family and eventing and trail riding her horse Chase.
