Meet the Staff

Dunlap Dunlap

David Dunlap, DVM

Dr. Dunlap was born and raised in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He attended Auburn University where he received an Animal Science degree in 1994 and his Veterinary degree in 1997. After several years of mixed animal practice, he decided to follow his dream and open an equine exclusive facility, named Creekside Equine in 2002. In 2009 Creekside was re-named North Alabama Equine Hospital.

Outside of work, Dr. Dunlap enjoys spending time with his family, boating, trail riding and barrel racing. His interests are all aspects of equine practice with a special interest in equine lameness and podiatry.


Mann Mann Mann

Todd Mann, DVM

Dr. Todd Mann joined NAEH in May of 2009.He was raised in New Hope, Alabama. Dr. Mann attended Auburn University where he received a Bachelor degree in Animal science in 2005. After his bachelors degree he continued his education at Auburn receiving a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in May of 2009. During his last year at Auburn he was a large animal student resident, he attended Idaho Equine Hospital, and Royal Visit Southwest (embryo transfer specialty) in Ok.

He completed his preceptorship at Alamo Area Veterinary Clinic in San Antonio, TX. During his preceptor he concentrated on equine lameness, surgery, and reproduction.

"My passion lies within giving our patients the best equine care available. I enjoy the North Alabama area it is were my family and friends are; and in general the people are wonderful to work for. All areas of equine practice are rewarding including sports medicine, surgery, preventive medicine, and reproduction."


Schenk Schenk

Jamie Schenk - Office Manager

Jamie became a member of NAEH in May of 2009. She has been riding and caring for horses for over 18 years. She enjoys all styles of riding, but has recently been exploring team penning and barrel racing with her off-the- track Standardbred mare Lacy. Jamie graduated from The Ohio State University in 2005 where she specialized in Russian language and Equine Reproduction. While in school, she also completed a 4 year internship with New Vocations Race Horse Adoption. When not working at the clinic, Jamie enjoys traveling with her husband and hiking and spending time with her their 5 dogs.


Cole Cole Cole Cole

Alisa Cole - Veterinary Technician

Alisa became a member of NAEH in September of 2008. She is a C3 Pony Clubber preparing for her B and is also a member of USEA and USEF. Alisa has competed in eventing since 2003 and was Jr. Novice Reserve Champion in 2004, Jr. Training Champion in 2005 and competed in a CCI* competition in 2006. In addition to competing her Thoroughbred/Appaloosa gelding Chase Me Charlie II and working at NAEH, Alisa enjoys training horse’s part-time, spending time with her family, eventing, and trail riding. Alisa is a Bob Jones High School graduate and currently attends Calhoun Community College. She plans to transfer to UAH in the fall of 2010 to acquire a Business degree and an Interior Design Certificate.
